Motorcycle is the important and popular transportation tool of modern society. The key technology of motorcycle is engine technology. The thesis studies the its structure and performance and the performance measuring system.The engine is the force resource of motorcycle. It has direct influence on motorcycle's performance. It is the most important technology. As the engine technology is developing, its structure become complicated and performance continue to be strengthened. Deferent types of motorcycle have the same structure principle. In engine, the systems of carburetion, ignition, shift, etc, are compared and analyzed, which release the trend of motorcycle's technology and give the clear concept of its structure and performance.The mixing gas is closely associated with the engine performance. The engine has the different requirement to it at different situation. With the development of engine technology, the carburetion system's disadvantage is obvious and it is not satisfied. The electronic fuel injection system has obvious advantage over the carburetion system. Now a lot of motorcycle factories have employed the technology to its production. This technology has its own character. Some technologies, such as inside vat injection, outside vat injection, spiccato injection, continuum injection, etc, which have different influence on motorcycle, have different characters. Take the Honda GL1200 motorcycle for a case, we can learn about the system.The breakthrough of science is based on measuring technology, the motorcycle also do it. In the motorcycle's startup, trig, ignite performance measuring system, the first step is selecting sensor which covert the rotate speed, temperature and so on, into electrical signal including current, voltage. Then we deal with the signal, in which SCM is very important. With he development of science, virtual instrument (VI) is the production of rapid development of measuring field. VI combines the computer with functional hardware by applying program. Then custom can operate the computer through friendly graphics interface, just like operating single instrument that is defined and designed by himself. The measuring object collectings analyzings judging s displaying s data storage. At last, the author put forth a motorcycle performance measuring project which is based on virtual instrument and make the process ease.The thesis briefly introduce the motorcycle GPS (Global Position System). As the science develop rapidly, a lot of new electronics telecoms mechatronics technologies have employed to the motorcycle.
