The treatment of traditional oxygenic active sludge is main technology to treat sewage in marine field in very long period. The active sludge technology mainly consist of aeration section and settling section. Aeration is a tank where microorganism decompose organism in waste water. Mixture liquid is separated into solid and liquid in settling tank, then to attain clean water. Part of active sludge compressed in settling tank return to aeration tank to keep density of active sludge in aeration tank. Though active sludge technology made a significant role in control of pollution of water environment, There are a quite few of defects as follows due to limit of gravity separation. ①Efficiency of separation of solid and liquid is low due to gravity settling used, it can't keep high sludge density in aeration tank because separated sludge density is limit, the load of volume is lower and it'll occupy big space. ②Water quality treated in tank must make further treatment to reach waste water discharge standard in marine. ③The density of sludge in reaction unit can't keep too high in order not to affect settling efficiency in settling tank, so it need move away the sludge residue periodically and create big volume of sludge residue and add sludge treatment cost. ④Complication of operation and management, high energy consummation. It'll be sludge expansion sometimes, lower capability of impact load, unstable operation. In order to conform to the demand of global environment protection, and the increasing sewage discharge standard in marine, The former treatment of traditional oxygenic active sludge could not meet current new demand any more, And International Marine organization (IMO) will put new sewage discharge standard into effect soon, At that time, The operation ship will be fined seriously if they discharge sewage in marine under former low discharge standard. The ship operators are expecting new advanced technology to treat the sewage which could economically , effectively and fully conforming with discharge standard. This paper has studied UF operation principle through working on ultrafilm separation technology and linking to sewage active sludge treatment facing above issues, designed a new Marine MBR in order to reach the goal of high efficiency, economy and complying with sewage discharge standard. Following works is done. ①Study the principle of ultrafilm separation technology and sewage active sludge treatment to explore possibility of cooperation of above technology. ②Set up new marine MBR and study it's operation principle. ③Set up math module of new MBR through further study of principle. ④Make trail and test , and attain serials of test results to see clearly good results of new marine MBR, it'll raise mixture density, longer SRT, reduce sludge residue, improve water quality, significant improvement on moving away foam solid, organism and bacterium . ⑤Prove further both on theory and test that new marine MBR is feasibility on sewage treatment in marine field, it laid foundation for new marine MBR application further later.
