Automatical vertical sling is an important device used in cold rolling of strip plant for clipping and feeding the coil of strip that placed in the form of winding and vertical type. The design of it will directly affect the performance of working device. It further affects the working efficiency and economic cutoff of the whole device. Its research has great significance. The paper focuses on the sling used in cold-rolling mill plant ,its machine is analyzed by combining FEM with ADAMS.The three-dimensional model of sling is created by using the PRO/E in the paper,it prepare a condition for the analysis of dynamics simulation. By using dynamics simulation software ADAMS, we can simulate automatical vertical sling's working condition when it pick 40.9t coil of strip and has no load,and get the force condition the left and right bell crank has received.We validate the correctness of the analysis of dynamics simulation by combining FEM with field testing.and get stress distribution of the left and right bell crank,in the meantime find that high stress concentration of the arc of the biggest radius of curvature result in the initiation of the fatigue crack.The maximum principal stress is much bigger than the fatigue strength limit of the material.We make use of the optimization analysis module of FEM to optimize the structure of the right inner and right outer bell crank,it makes extent of reduction of the maximum principal stress reach 25.8% and 23.9% separately, and makes the maximum principal stress be lower than the fatigue strength limit of the material. Then the three-dimensional model of optimized structure of the right inner and right outer bell crank is created renewedly and fed back to the sling's three-dimensional model for simulation, we find that the ameliorated element intervene in well-balanced work of others elements.The sling can work in the course of nature.It indicates that the optimized results can be applied to the actual sling.The paper provide engineering designer with a new idea,the mothed combining the FEM with ADAMS not only resolve the practical engineering problem,but also is exerted in the designing and analysis of the multibar mechanism.
