As the development of space structure, the span of structure become more and more big, and the modern structure also grow in number inexpensively. Especially recent years, the modern structure system is constantly emerging, and makes the join way of node between structural members become complicated day by day. Nowadays, the various traditional nodes have not meet the need of the development on modern steel structure, such as the ball-node of welding, the node of cast pipe, etc. it is common knowledge that the node structure will produce a great impact on the structure's conducting load ways, making and installation, planted speed of the projects, and the cost of the projects. So seeking a new node type, which make the projects become more reasonable, easier to construct, cost less, has become the actual target to all the engineers and technicians. With the development of casting technology, the cast steel node has been paid close attention by the engineers, because of its rationality and practicality. The cast steel node has been widely used in foreign countries, especially some developed countries such as German, Japan, etc. However, the use of the cast steel node has just spring up in domestic. In recent years, this modern node type has been used in some big span projects and on some key parts which loading the power. It brings us great economic results and social results. Now, we are still lacking in experience on cast steel node using in architecture, so the relating study and theoretical analysis has been the top priority task, in order to keep compatible with the development of the node. The design of the new Jiangbei International Airport Building of Chongqing used some giant cast steel spares. By the five on-the-spot measurements and calculation of the main and secondary truss, also the post feet of the large cast steel node, the stress test results of the experimental members'surface are gained. Then, using the finite element software set up a model to analysis and gained the stress calculation results of the test spots. On condition that both the test results and finite element analysis results match well, the inner stress state of the whole cast steel node is deduced according to the results of FE analysis. By means of simulating the stress state of the cast steel node working with defects, and combining the test and finite element analysis, at the final part of the paper, the evaluation on the safety bearing capacity of node is concluded positively. In addition, the study in this paper can play a positive role on laying down criterion of the architecture cast steel parts, choosing material, making skill and structure design.
