Research And Development On CAD System Of Cam Mechanisms

Cam mechanisms is one of indispensable manufacture equipment in modern industry for its simple and compact structure, exact and efficient control, steady capability and good adaptablility. And it can also complete complicated movement with other mechanisms together. There are both social and economic value to increase the designing and manufacturing precision, shorten the designing period and improve the qulity of product by improving design-method of cam mechanisms and making the best of computer technology to fulfill the cam mechanism's computer aided design.CSCM (A CAD System of Cam Mechanisms) is a special mechanism-design software which is second-developed with ObjectARX and MFC based on AutoCAD 2002 platform. In the aspect of writing program, the paper firstly analyze the structure of cam mechanisms and the laws of motion. Then an Object-Oriented method is applied to define classes of cam, by which the hierarchy of classes of these classes are discussed.Different design modules are developed based on different kinds of cams. As far as drawing, the parametric design technology is applied to improve the efficiency of ploting.Additionaly, the system develops the cam database with Access2000, and realize the real-time calling the parameter of cam and datum of contour by ADO technique, which suit the users' convenience very much.As a matter of fact, the ARX program developed by ObjectARX is a dynamic link library. Although it can be loaded real time when AutoCAD is running, there are many others jobs to be done, for example, loading menu ,setting the database path etc.For avoiding these jobs, A insall program is made for users can install and use the software easily. At the same time, help file is made for users to know about and use this software easily.This system's characters are practical function, beautiful interface, simple operation, stable running and high efficiency etc. At the same time, it can be easily maintained and expanded.
