With the development of computer technology, the connection of computer and industries is closer and closer. The appearance of AutoCAD has brought us a lot of conveniences, and the appearance of AutoCAD's second development has changed the working system of designers. These developments do will add vitality for design of hydraulic engineering.This development adapts the VC++.NET2005 developing interface with ObjectARX2007 to program the spherical forked steel tube CAD system which has window style user interface by selecting the shared dynamic linked MFC library. The system achieves the visual and automation by interaction between the MFC dialog and AutoCAD graphic system. It makes full using of the Object-oriented developing function provided by the ObjectARX2007. The user can interact with the system in higher level by using Object-oriented data encapsulation mechanism to implement the data abstraction and information reservation.In this paper, at first analyses the background and the development of AutoCAD technology. And then introduces and contrasts several methods of AutoCAD's second development, and points out the feasibility and inevitability of using Object ARX in developing the spherical forked steel tube. And then expounding the character,function and the class library of ObjectARX2007. The design theory of the spherical forked steel tube is analyzed in this paper. And brings forward the basic idea of using ObjectARX2007 in the AutoCAD's second development, points out the research contents,the implement project and several important modules of this system, and the resolvent of some important problems are introduced. At last, the paper offers the help of installing and using, and the work of this paper is summarized, the direction of the research is pointed out.
