Modern hydraulic transmission and control systems are required to output a wider range of power, higher control accuracy and more flexibilities. All of these will directly lead to the development of newer and better hydraulic control components and systems. With the development of computer technology, digitalization has provided a strong boost to the hydraulic development both at home and abroad at present. This thesis puts forward a new digital hydraulic servo cylinder, based on the studying relevant works and achievements achieved by the fellow engineers and researchers. The dynamic and static characteristics of the digital hydraulic servo cylinder are investigated by utilizing the simulation software MATLAB. The relationship between the static/dynamic characteristics and the geometric parameters of the digital hydraulic servo cylinder is theoretically acquired, which forms the basis of the design of this kind of servo cylinder. The study also focused more on nonlinearities in simulation investigation, because real system is nonlinear one. Furthermore, the nonlinear results are also compared to the linear ones. Based on this, its structural design has been improved and so are its static and dynamic performance. The contents in each chapter of the thesis are as follows: In Chapter one, The relevant research literatures are at first summarized. Then purposes and contents of the thesis are briefly described. In Chapter two, the working principle of the digital hydraulic servo cylinder is introduced first. The static mathematical model is then built up and static mechanical stiffness and zero position leakage are finally discussed by means of the analysis to...
