Commercial street has become the mixed-up thing which related closely with the politics, economy and the culture.Commercial street Environmental design belongs to the design area, designer use the signs to creat such style they want. First of all, We need the knowledge about the semiology to discuss the style problem. We turn the semiology into the design semiology.Then,the author returned to the basic material of the commercial street, such as Its history, its time back ground(turns from the modernism to the postmodernism), its culture back ground(postmodernism and mass culture).Through these basic material, the author put them in to the commercial street of china, discussed the situation of nowadays environmental design.At last, the author discussed the semiology of the china commercial street design. Commercial street should reflect the postmodernism, mass culture, Carnivalesque practice, and, a little bit, pain feeling.
