Highway Traffic Flow Simulating System Research

This paper makes a brief presentation about highways development and the general controlling strategies. It states that the simulating system is the economic and efficient way to realize the highways controlling strategies. Moreover, it elaborates the ideas about and the general procedures and the significance of the system simulation and the traffic simulation.The paper details the simulating process of the traffic flow on the highways and the approaches of how to realize it. The parameter model has been improved on the basis of further analysis and research on the existing parameter model of the traffic flow on the highways. The simulating model and multi-simulating-realization and data processing and cartoon effect are all integrated into the program based on VB programming design and the realizing approaches to embody the principle of combining the theories with the practice.The paper reaches some guiding results based on the simulating analysis of several typical traffic flow states and provides a supporting platform for the analysis on traffic flow characteristics, the parameter relationships between each road sections and various correcting factors. The realization of cartoon effects and the generation of data provide a strong guarantee for the students to learn the related knowledge.At the end, the paper points out the shortcomings existing in the simulating models employed, thus cast lights on the direction of research in the future.
