Logic Analyzer is also considered Logic Oscillograph, which mostly been used to analyze the logic relations between digital system. Logic Analyzer can solve the problems of detecting and failures diagnose in more and more complicated digital system virtually, it is a most useful and representative instrument in the domain of data testing. With the development of technology of digital and computer, Logic Analyzer becomes a new measure instrument in fitting for hardware analyzes and software analyzes.Virtual Instrument is one important part of virtual technology, and it is the result of banding the technology of modern computer hardware and communication and measuring together. Virtual Instrument is representative the development direction in the domain of measure instrument, the most differentiation between virtual instrument and traditional instrument is that the key of virtual instrument is hardware.The paper was doing some works about virtual instrument, making study on virtual instrument and correlative technology and developing a new virtual instrument - a virtual logic analyzer based on FPGA, which is a perfect instrument on computer system and digital circuit design and software development.The testing object of logic analyzer is the digital information in digital system. The structure of logic analyzer is complicated and the cost of it is more expensive. This paper discussed the idea of design and method of realize about virtual logical analyzer that based on the conception of virtual instrument. Due to part of hardware function are soften, the hardware circuits become simple, which improve the dependability and function of logic analyzer.With the help of FPGA and Verilog Hardware Design Language, this paper had made a virtual logic analyzer based on computer. This logic analyzer is simple to use and save cost on some degree. Below having the same capability, this logic instrument is cheaper one-third than corresponding instrument or even more. Since the powerful function and superiority on price, this logic instrument has strong life and very broad future and has some value on teaching and scientific research.
