Reinforcement application of geosynthetics in high embankment is researched in this paper relying on one of western communication construction technology projects motivated by ministry of communication: Research on the Geosynthetics Application Technology in Highway of Loessial Area. Based on test and investigation in field, the limit equilibrium and numerical analysis methods are used to study the deformation, failure and stability of high reinforced embankment. The paper verifies theoretical model based on contrast analysis between theoretical models with trail pavement section and concludes the consecutions of trial section. The paper also do some extended research on high reinforcement embankment based on above method, analyses some factors which influence reinforcement effect, concludes some favorable consecutions of reinforcement application of geosynthetics in high embankment. It can be references to construction application and be beneficial to succeeding researches. (1) The reinforcement application of geosynthetics in high embankment can prevent local oversize settlement to some extend, control lateral displacement in slope of embankment and keep it stable, reduce inhomogeneous settlement in bottom of embankment, decrease outward extrusion stress to foundation, and enhance integral strength and stability of embankment. (2) The lay position of geosynthetics can straightly influence reinforcement effect. The better lay position is below half part of embankment, especially in region of concentrate settlement. This region will ascend and enlarge with increasing height of embankment. The lay position should be close to bottom of embankment in order to undertake more stress. The ideal lay method of geosynthetics is full-length lay and multilayer. (3) The application of some thickness of lime soil stable lay in bottom of embankment can prevent local oversize settlement and control lateral displacement in slope of embankment.
