Viscous damping wall (VDW) is a new type of device for structural vibration energy dissipation, compared with other dampers, VDW has its special advantage that it makes use of the space afforded by the wall well and offers enough large damping force, so VDW not only applies to earthquake-reduction design of new buildings, but also is used to aseismatic retrofitting of old building. Furthermore, VDW has ease of equipment and low maintenance, so it is a more perfect energy dissipation device at present.In order to study the dynamic behaviors and seismic behavior of the fame structure with viscous damping wall; find out the effect of the frame internal force after VDW installed, two frame are designed and they are objected under lateral sine wave loads. We mainly study the relation between the performance of the fame structure with viscous damping wall and frequency, displacement etc; The failure causation, energy dissipation, hysteresis capacity are carried out to research based on the test. The results show that, compare with the normal frame structure, the fame structure with VDW have higher lateral stiffness, bearing capacity, energy dissipation, and the internal force of the frame change greatly after VDW installed.The finite analysis model for the frame structure with VDW is put forward. By utilizing finite element analysis program SAP2000, the dynamic tests of the frame structure with VDW is simulated; By comparing the experimental results with the results analyzed in finite analysis, to testify the correctness of the analysis model. The result by compared show that, The finite analysis model for the frame structure with VDW and the analysis method is reasonable, and the finite analysis model is suitable to apply to the kind of structure with VDW.This paper analyses the frame structure with VDW by layer model and pole model method. It studies the relation between the maximal response and damping ratio under sine displacement loading, gets the variable rule of the internal force of the frame with VDW and illustrates the design method of the structure with VDW base on the experimental analyzing and theoretics analyzing.
