Study On The Sustainable Development Of The Taizhou City In The Rapid Urbanizing Process

The dissertation studies on the Taizhou City, which lies in Suzhong District. The regional change, the district development demand and the traffic construction decide the rapid developing tendency of the Taizhou City. In the following years, the growth of the city, the expansion of the urban population, the reconstruction of the city structure and the acceleration of the urbanization will happen. The dissertation emphasizes on the sustainable development of the Taizhou City in the rapid urbanizing process. The dissertation is based on the sustainable development theory, the regional integration theory and the general development theory of the economy, the society, the culture, the environment. On the basis of these theories, the general strategy about the sustainable development of the Taizhou City is raised. First, the city's development should base on the region harmony. Then the sustainable development of the Taizhou City includes three aspects, such as the sustainable development of urban space, environments and urban features. The three aspects are discussed in three chapters. (1) The urban space frame should be adjusted to build up the reasonable space order. (2) The environments should be emphasized on to create good habitations. (3) The city should keep its own features when rapid developing. The dissertation aims at providing a suitable way of keeping sustainable developing for the Taizhou City during the rapid urbanizing process, and hope that other similar cities may learn a few revelations from the research.
