Nowadays, the main engine remote control system is a very important part of the engine room automation. There are multifarious means adopted in the main engine remote control system. This paper introduces the system to implement the function of the main engine remote control based on the PLC industrial controlling network. This system has the characteristics of good economic performance, simple hardware circuits, safety and credibility in work.On basis of the main engine remote control system implemented by the multi- PLC industrial controlling network, first, designs the integer frame of the PLC network and the communication project, then , implements the design of the start-stop and safety autocontrol system by the communication network. In the meantime deals with the analog signal of setting revolution, then sends the signal to the electronic governor based on PPI protocol, and sends the signal to the computer based on free port protocol, so that the computer real-time monitor the condition of main engine control system.The communication part contains two PLC. One works as master deeding with revolution signals and start-stop controlling, the other one works as slave representing the electronic governor, the terminal computer can real-time monitor the condition of main engine control system. Two modes of communication, one is PPI master- slave protocol, one is free port protocol. Hardware being limited , takes inconvenience to the design. Many communication details can't be found in reference book, only can be gained by debugging constantly. According to requires of the main engine remote control, controls the start-stop by programming software of SIEMENCE S7-200.At the same time, designs necessary safety system.. By debugging the software and hardware circuits, attains the request.This paper contains six parts. The first part introduces the basic requirement of the main engine remote control system. The second introduces SIEMENS S7-200 and it's network communication. The third introduces the integer frame of PLC network and communication modes. The forth introduces the program design of start-stop.The fifth introduces the program design of revolution control.The sixth is the conclusion.There may be some shortages, please give some comments and pick out the shortages so that be corrected.
