With the development of computer technique and information industry, CAD technique and parametric technique are used in mechanical field. The Development of production parametric CAD system has become certain trend in information and digital enterprise production. At present, involute planet gear reducer are applied extensively in mechanism. But, the complex structure of the reducer brings great difficulty to designer. Therefore, an involute planet gear reducer 3D parametric CAD system of based on Pro/E is presented in this paper. Through this system, you can design all parts of the reducer conveniently on visual circumstance. This system not only would improve the design quality and efficiency of reducer, and shorten the develop cycle, but also would be valuable to the Finite Element Analysis. So it could satisfy the development of modern technology.This thesis, which develops and runs on Windows 2000 professor system, which uses VC++6.0 as the integration development environment and Pro/ENGINEER as parametric CAD system platform.Which is two parts of all。The first part is structure and optimizes design of reducer parts: Using MFC resource to edit parameter initialization interface of reducer. According to reducer design handbook and experience formula to compile C++ application program to achieve structure and optimize design of reducer parts, write optimize data into database.The second part is the achievement of reducer parametric CAD system: Using 3D parametric software Pro/ENGINEER WILDFIRE to create reducer part and assembly model library; at the same time, by using Pro/TOOLKIT's functions as a developing toolkit and compiling C and C++ code in VC++6.0 to show and modify reducer parts in Pro/ENGINEERWILDFIRE.
