In the daily life, reading residents' power meter is a hard problem to power supply departments or community management center. According to this ,deep researches and improvements have been made by many corporations and researchers, automatically reading meter system based on low power line has been introduced. This kind of system is not used widely now, because there are some disadvantageous factors which are noise, changing impedance greatly and attenuation on the low power line.Low power line exits in every resident house, and is this can be used better to realize automatically reading meter to improve the management level by the methods of resolvingthose disadvantageous factors ?Remote reading meter system through low power line is introduced in this paper, which is based on the theory of spread frequency communication. High spread P/N code is adopted as the spread frequency code, and DPSK as the mode of modulation and demodulation to resolve the noise and impedance on the power line. The abilities of anti-disturbance . and successful rate of communication is obviously improved, and meanwhile repeater arithmetic is also introduced to settle the problem of attenuation.The hardware and software of determination which is the resident power meter in remote reading meter system is mainly designed in this paper. According to the requirements of the electronic measuring tool and the communication with the concentrator, the single chip micro-controller is the kernel and IC is also used to realize the function of collecting, countering, computing and storing. And the communication function between the meter and concentrator is also carried out toenhance the management level and to serve the residents more better.
