The current parallel operation for generator has been mainly under the control of Mono-Chip Computers, and the methods for parallel operation are mainly self synchronizing chart and standard synchronizing chart. The effect of parallel operation is not very good due to low speed of Mono-Chip Computers when dealing with datum and the simulative control method adopted in parallel operation. Besides, the parallel operation of synchronous generator on one hand has to meet the needs of frequency, phase sequence, voltage, on the other hand it must guarantee a constant voltage at the voltage ends and a reasonable distribution of power of the generator, while all these functions can only be realized through excitation regulator. The current analog regulators have the following defects such as: low expectations for craft of the circuit, exists the phenomenon of drift; and it has fewer functions, not easy to expand and upgrade, bad commonability, inconvenient to safeguard , so it is very hard to meet the requirements of the equipments. This context has carried research on excitation control system, designed a set of CAN-bus based parallel operation of synchronous generator which is controlled by DSP, concrete research contents are as the following:Firstly, develop a small digital excitation regulator of synchronous generator while analyzing the basic structure and operation principle of the excitation of wave in harmony synchronous generator which has no brush so as to well adjust voltage at the voltage ends and power of the generator. This regulator is based on the chip of TMS320F240, the method adopted is increment type PID algorithm.Secondly, analyze operation principle of the parallel operation ofsynchronous generator, establish an overall design scheme of CAN-bus based parallel operation of synchronous generator, worked out communication interface circuit of CAN controller SJA1OOO and compile corresponding program. In the end, carried on a test to the excitation regulator that is developed, result shows this regulator can be better satisfy the anticipated design target, the performance is superior to the analog excitation regulator.
