Diesel generator sets are widely used in important departments and occasion without electrical nets such as open country, acted as standby power supply or movable power supply. Among them harmonious wave excitation brushless generators are rapidly developed for their low inherent voltage adjusting ratio, few mistakes and high reliability. Excitation regulator is one of the most important parts of generator, and it plays a very key role for assuring power supply quality. But the existing former digital excitation voltage regulator of this generator can't meet the demand for automatically regulating voltage, because it has many defects such as the strict demand of electrocircuit technics, the phenomenon of temperature excursion, a few of functions, the discommodiousness of maintenance and so on. So in this dissertation, the excitation control system is studied, and with respect to characteristic of harmonious wave excitation brushless generator, a sort of digital voltage regulator based on DSP is designed. The main content of this paper is as follows:Firstly, on the basis of the research of the basic structure and the operation principle of the harmonious wave excitation brushless diesel generator the basic structure and the control method of the excitation regulator are established.Furthermore, the control circuits of the excitation regulator are redesigned, and it has series feedback loop architecture. A chip of TMS320F2812 made by TI Inc. is the core of the controller, and the PID arithmetic is adopted. The system control command and status data exchanged between the upward computer and the DSP chip is used by the serial communication interface and network interface. To improve the system stability and reliability, embedded RTOS μC/OS-II is used.Finally, experiment is conducted on the new excitation control system. The result indicates that the expected design indexes are respectively met, and the digital voltage regulator based on DSP is obviously better than former digital voltage regulators.
