If real physical system is reproduced on computer through applying 3D visual simulation technology, it will help operators and vindicators directly watch the state of units, analyze the deduction process of units' state, comprehend the configuration of equipment and understand the skill of operation and maintain on the virtual reality space. So it is significant for operators and vindicators to improve their skill level.This thesis mainly discusses the application of 3D visualization in the condition-based maintenance-oriented of hydroelectric set. Combined with the development of condition-based maintenance-oriented 3D visual simulate system of hydroelectric set, the author researches whole process of 3D visualization: the substantiality of real object, the reality of substantial object and the after-Process of computer. The structure, principle and software implementation of a 3D visual simulation system for hydroelectric generating units are also introduced. The thesis begins with the basic Computer Graphics knowledge, and then introduces Graphics API and the function of some senior 3D software. At the same time, the concepts of data processing and the system structure are also recommended. At the end the thesis sets up the mold of Lead guide blade's servomotor of hydroelectric set in the 3D visual and takes it example for explaining the whole process of the realization of 3D visualization.
