The Hanzheng Jie district is not only a long-history business centre, but also a concentrated place for the habitation history of Hankou. Nowadays, The Hanzheng Jie district, after several rounds of redevelopment, where the big-scale redevelopments are still in the wind, presents us a complex and mixed environment in the most habitation communities. The elderly are the colony who spend the longest time in the habitation communities, as well as, the colony who reckon most on them. Therefore, it is important to know how the elderly use the community environment in their daily lives, what their demands on the community environment are, especially for the sustainable development of the habitation communities in the Hanzheng Jie district. Accompanied with the population aging becoming a common phenomenon in Wuhan, the population aging in the Hanzheng Jie district coming into focus, it is crucial for the communities in the Hanzheng Jie district to find out how to settle those problems energetically, which are brought out by the population aging. The purpose of this research is to examine how the elderly use the community environment in their daily lives, what their demands on the community environment are, to probe into those environmental arrangements and social organizations, finally to bring forward corresponding suggestions rationally and effectively to better commuties.The object of this research is the interaction between the daily of the elderly and the community environment, choosing Wan'an community as a typical case, employing structured field observation and in-depth interviews of the elderly to know the environment of Wan'an community, the interaction between their daily life, intercourse and environment, desires for the aged lives and the community service network for the elderly. After some discussion on the findings, a few suggestions are made both on the material and the social side of community construction by the end of the research paper.
