Safty Evaluation And Remediation Research At ShanDong XiWei Reservoir Project

Since new China had been established, nearly 85000 reservoirs have been constructed in our country. During they serve our country's people, many dangerous situations also appear. Some of the dams even failed. The life and property of our people suffer the serious loss. In order to develop the project benefit fully, it is very essential to summarize and generalize the reinforcement technology of earth rockfill dams.In this article, the important dangers about the main buildings of Xiwei Reservoir project have been analyzed. In the dam remediation design, anti seepage is processed to the dam applying the anti seepage wall in the earth rockfill dam reinforcement technology according to the long dam axial and complicated dam structure. We also research the design scheme of the anti seepage wall, construction technology and the reinforcement effect systematically and choose the measures of rock curtain grouting, concrete anti seepage wall and cement earth mixed pile at every dam segment. Considering the situation above, we take the comparison about several anti seepage wall schemes from technology, cost, construction condition and choose the different anti seepage wall schemes according to each dam segment. Safty check and remediation design of offlet of XiWei reservoir are researched. The building crossed dam is easily failed and dangerous. After comparison, according to economy, technology, construction and the principle that benefit to the reservoir's development, we determine the reinforcement scheme of the offlet.This project is finished before flood season at 2005, the dam's behavior and quality check show that the dam meets with anti seepage requirement. The successful applications of remediation technology in XiWei Reservoir project can be applied to other reservoirs' remediation and get many experiences for the reservoir's danger situation research.
