With the development of the society, the collocation of the structures become more and more complicated in plane and vertical because of the restriction of the construction place or the demand of the function. The distribution of mass and collocation of anti-side force components are unsymmetrical in these buildings, so the responses of the structures are more complicated. These irregular structures produce not only even move but also torsion under the earthquake, sometimes it become the main factor that results in the breakage of the structures. Therefore it is important that how to forecast the responses and assurance the aseismatic capability of the structures under the earthquake. The research on responses of the irregular structures under the earthquake is an important aspect.Three aspect researches were done aimed at the irregular structures as follows:1. Several important problems were discussed in the Pushover analysis, and the aseismatic capability and damage performance were estimated based on the pushover analysis of the structures in the text. The results were different if the loads applied on the structure in opposite directions. It was attested by the example.2. The effects to the structures of the floor eccentricity were analysed and compared, and there were some meaningful conclusion.3. The theory and method of performance-based seismic design and the problem when it used in irregular structures were discussed in the text.
