In the 21st Century, it is feared that accelerated population growth andrapid urbanization will cause various water crises, such as flooding and watershortage, as well as drinking water contamination all around the world. It isno exaggeration to say that sustainable water strategies in urban areas willbe the utmost important keys to the global city's environmental strategies.Tianjin is a serious water scarcity city, which is the 1/15 of the quantity percapita in China. Traditional method to solve water supply shortage has reachedthe limitations. The exploitation and use of new water resource will become thetheme of water conservancy. Besides the exploitation on traditional waterresources, the using of unconventional water resources is undoubtedly one goodway to solve the crisis of water resource.This thesis introduces the development and trend in China and othercountries. The unconventional water resources has been exploited and used fora long time in some developed countries that have accumulated a huge mount ofexperiences that deserves studying. This thesis is aimed at studying three kindsof unconventional water resources: rainwater, rejuvenated water and seawateras well as analyzes the significance and benefit of these water resources andits importance in sustainable development. According to the method, technique,equipment and water quality, brings forward the possibility and measure ofunconventional water resources exploitation and use of unconventional waterresources.The most important part of the thesis is about studying on the use ofrainwater, which is concentrated on demonstrating the feasibility and the resultof rainwater collecting. The thesis introduces a building's roof and groundrainwater collecting system project, technique flow, rainwater collecting andwater quality. This thesis forecasts the amount of rainwater collecting withthe popular mathematics method: Artificial Neural Network, which is a newexperience of using of Artificial Neural Network in water resource problems andhas a good result.This thesis also discusses the method and water quality according to thesustainable development strategy. It also introduces the using method ofrejuvenated water on agriculture and the trend in the artificial everglade aswell.
