Dachongkou Sluice, located in Zhongshan suburb, Guangdong province, has alarge size of maximal water discharge capacity of 1774 m3/s, and comprehensivefounctions including flood discharging, tide retaining, water supply, etc.The key problem to be resolved is the foundation disposal, because the sluice lieson silt base with 40m thick approximately, so its building condition is very bad. Thethesis adopt filling pile scheme as final solution, which based on the study of theproject layout and building design through analyzing and comparing with othersearnestly.After having optimized various alternatives, an economical and reasonablestake-arrangememt plan is chosen for the filling pile scheme.The main problem in thescheme is the deflection of the stake body. To this key technical problem, a particularcalculation using machanics of materials method has been done to analyze, and thecalculation result turns out that the deflection of the stake body is in the permissionrange according to criterion. In order to ensure the safe operation in the sluice project,3D calculation method is used to rectify the deflection of the stake body, and theresults of the both calculation is fundamentally approximate. All of this shows that thefilling pile scheme is resonable and economical.The fruit of the study has been maken use of the project design. Foundationdisposal of Dayongkou Sluice has finished at present, and after test, all of items aresatisfied with the design requirement. Weak foundation disposal problem exists notonly in Dachongkou Sluice, but also in Guangdong province and other coastal area.The fruit of the study is a successful application in the design of the Sluice;it alsooffers evidence and reference for other projects with similar problems.
