Currently, it is a task for us to know how to create architecture with regionalcharacteristics and how to blend the historical and cultural issues with moderncivilization in the boom of construction industry.Through knowing of regional culture, observing and studying local architecturestyles, and bringing my own creative ideas in practice, I recognized that respectingtradition and culture is not sticking to conventions and simply coping. It is aninnovation based on inheriting tradition. Today's achievements of economy andtechnology need to be represented by today's cultural forms. So it's necessary for usto explore and inherit excellent parts of tradition. By combining a value of continuousdevelopment and not just simulating purely in forms or piling up with symbols, wecan seek its potential and original nature by meeting the needs of people for modernlives and maintaining the essence of tradition. Architectural design is a process ofchoosing, refining, abstracting, converting traditional elements which meet the needsof the era, analyzing dynamically the regional culture of architecture, developingcreatively regional characteristics and recreating with blending science andtechnology.
