Development And Application Of Management Information System For Power Dispatching Center

In modern power systems, dispatching center plays a vital role in electric utilityoperation management. Its main tasks include: planning different preventive strategiesand bringing these strategies into effect;coordinating system-wide power plants inoperation;guaranteeing system security and stability.Information of Dispatching Management Information System (DMIS) comefrom some online production system, such as SCADA, or is offered by relevantdepartments. The main functions of DMIS include Office Automation (OA),production data process, sharing information service, WEB release service, assistantdecision support, and so on. As an important part of utility MIS, DMIS mainly servesfor electric production and facility management. The involved production departmentsof DMIS include different level of dispatching center, substations, power plants,examining and repairing departments. Human resource department and financialdepartment also need to exchange relative information with DMIS. The managementof equipments data is the core of DMIS.From the point of engineering view, this thesis mainly discusses the requirementsand principles of designing DMIS, especially discusses the design principles ofdatabase and system structure. Then this thesis provides the technical scheme of aDMIS. As an example, the application of DMIS in Tianjin Electric Power Company isintroduced. Finally, the future development of DMIS is discussed.
