The crane of the container is the important equipment which load and unload freight in the port. If something wrong in these equipments, a big economic losing will occur.In this thesis, first, particular analysis of the Maxspeed crane drive analog circuit control system is made. Then, the fault tree of the control system is built after analyzing the analog circuit of the Maxspeed crane drive control system with the method of fault tree analysis (FTA).Research on a fault diagnosis expert system for crane drive control system is made. The Paper briefly introduces the basic theory of fault tree analysis and rule-based expert system, and offers to combine fault tree analysis with rule-based expert system. By connecting fault tree to diagnosis knowledge base through cut set, we can express expert knowledge totally, systematically, and logically by building fault tree. It makes knowledge acquisition come true to obtain diagnosis rule base according to the fault tree. The expert system is made up of an obverse reasoning mechanism, and the fault diagnosis for control system is realized by the searching and matching through a man-machine interface. Hence, the importance of FTA is stressed in building a large complicated fault diagnosis expert system.Finally, by using program language Borland Delphi7.0 under Windows2000, and applying the diagnostic method of artificial intelligence and the object-oriented programming design technology, we try to develop the fault diagnosis expert system of crane drive control system, which verified has better application prospect.
