To meet the flexible dwelling plan, the frame shearwall structure with special-shaped columns is a better structural form. In this paper, the frame-shear wall structure with special-shaped columns is studied and optimal design for the reasonable stiffness of shearing walls is done.In this paper, based on the behavior of special-shaped column, the "story shear model" is built, the story lateral stiffness is deduced and compared with the rectangular column frame structure.The lateral stiffness of shear wall in mid-highrise residential buildings of RC. frame-shear wall structure with special-shaped columns is optimized based on the principle of continuous-discretized analysis of interactive frame-shear wall structures, and formula for innerforces and displacements of elements are developed by dividing floors into element. Horizontal earthquake action are calculated by using the response spectrum and a mathematical model is constructed with interstorey drift, the ratio of lateral stiffness to gravity, storey shear to gravity as constrained conditions. The model has the same accuracy as that of the continuous method and it is suitable for frame-shear wall structure with variable lateral rigidity and different mass along height. Meanwhile, the computation method for earthquake-excited frame-shear wall structure is presented and the influences of three modes are discussed in this paper.In the shearing walls' stiffness optimization, more suitable design for the optimal method is developed. Meanwhile, on the basis of this paper's methods for analysis and optimization, a frame-shear wall structure analysis and optimum MATLAB software are developed. The software can be used to make the original optimal design for the frame shear wall structure and to determine the force and displacement of the structure. An optimal stiffness of the shear wall for engineeringdesign can also be directly recommended.An example shows the model was feasible and effective.
