The effective method that solves this problem, which Reduce the cost, improve the efficiency of product design, resolve the disaccord between the products data exist in the exchange of information between CAD and CAPP and ensure standardization and accurateness of process planning, is to adopt three-dimensional parameterized feature modeling and CAPP based on three-dimensional CAD. This paper deeply studies parameterized modeling of the valve based on the exist feature modeling theory and further researches on the key technologies of process planning, such as Extracting Geometrical Information of Part Features, automatically generating process card ,management of the template of process card. By adopting the modern design technology, three-dimensional feature modeling and CAD parameterized technology, the system of parameterized design of the valve is developed with the Visual C# and the platform of the Solidworks. Concrete contents of the paper are summarized as following:1) Deeply study the technology of feature modeling. Apply the the technology of feature modeling to the process of the valve design. Using the dividable characteristic of features, the valve can be divided into five features.Then parameterizedly design every feature,in this way the practicality and applicability of the parameterized design of the valve can be great improved. Moreover improve the efficiency of the design and shorten the cycle.2) Resolve the exchang of the information between the CAPP and the CAD. Compared with the tradional CAPP, the CAPP based on three-dimensional CAD have more close relations with CAD. It makes process planning and structure design influence each other. By deeply studying secondary developing SolidWorks, successfully achieve Extracting Geometrical Information of Part Features from CAD models in the CAPP system.3) Implement automatical building the process cards. Building the process cards is the last step in the process planning, then it influences the efficiency and applicability of CAPP.The format of the card is designed the format of SolidWorks DrawingDoc. Using the characteristic that the SolidWorks DrawingDoc is able to is related to three-dimensional model, this characteristic make the second-dimensional drawing in the card be updated with the three-dimensional model changing. it makes parameterized process planning possible.4) Using the Object Oriented technology as a tool, classifying the design objectand design parameters and building the feature library on the platform of Solidworks, develop the system of parameterized design of the valve with the Visual C#.
