CAPP and CAD emerge with the application of computer technology in mechanical manufacturing field. The integration of CAD/CAPP is the need of modern production and the key segment of CIMS. The hinge of CAD/CAPP integration is the integration of information which is to realize information share between CAD system. The feature modeling technology provides a new way for the integration of CAD/CAPP.With the precondition that the CAD and CAPP systems are linked by the feature information of specific parts as basic units , this paper focuses on total designing scheme of CAD/CAPP integration system especially for convey box-type parts, and puts forward the structural and module design for CAD and CAPP subsystems. On the aspect of integration, with the analysis and summary of the traditional definition and classification for the features, this paper overall describes features of convey box-type part and constructs database of feature information by the description of different features, different angles and different layers. So as to obtain information directly CAD system, and realize the integration of CAD and CAPP.Through objective-oriented automation technology, this integration system YRX-CAPP is developed in the paper by Visual Basic6.0 on two-dimension mechanical design platform of AutoCAD2004, and is supported by Windows XP. So this integration system has friendly interface for users and the design and test of the system is through practical example of one oriented-feature of convey box-type parts.
