Demonstrating the direction of improving the economics,at first this paperdiscusses the main technique-economic indexes of air cooling generation unit,andanalyses the cause of the problems including high coal consumption rate for powersupply,high auxiliary power consumption rate,low turbine efficiency,low vacuumetc.Thermodynamic parameter optimization, such as, the Initial TemperatureDifference (ITD) has been carried out.It is significant for improving the economy ofdirect air-cooled system.The theory of optimization of the ITD is introduced.As anexample, the ITD value of a 600 MW direct air-cooled system in some place isoptimized by taking the total annual costs of air-cooled system as objectivefunction.Furthermore,sensitivity analysis is gven.And the relation curves of the totalannual costs and the ITD value are got with different coal price,different price oftubes of air-cooled condenser and different ambient air temperature. The conclusion isvaluable for the design and operating of direct air-cooled system.
