The article introduces china classical gardens scenery development process made by artistic rockery at first. Then it analyses their forming ideal and cultural background and artistic technique and feature. It also anatomises actuality of garden scenery of our country which is made by rockery and analyses their style and feature and comes up with some solutions to the existent problem of modem garden. In this article I try to bring forward the developmental tendency of making scenery with rockery on the new position in China: extracting gardens cultural features of piling up rocks and hills, abandoning their traditional historical localization, holding practical significance of traditional opinion, inosculating environmental requirement of modem life. By doing so, we could adopt the Western's advantages to correct the disadvantages of China garden and design precisely along national and cultural venation. Besides, for the sake of ecological benefits, we also could make advantage of the new material and technology to create scenery productions of national character and modem style which adapt to modem people's mental character of touching nature.
