In the mid eighties of the twentieth century, with the continuing discoveries of the contractual documents revealing the actual social status of Ancient people in Huizhou, the ancient architecture unveiled its sole artistic enchantment. People were deeply impressed and astonished at its beauty and simultaneously, regarded it as an important physical carrier of Hui culture, it reflects the factors of cultural influence on the society, the nature and culture in different historical periods. The Hui Culture is of plentiful resources and content, the research on its cultural background is of great significance for the protection of this precious historical resource, and inherit this traditional cultural treasure, for making the past serve the present.This article bases on researching into the historical background in historical times when the ancient villages were built, it implements immense quantity of existing architectural instances emphasizing on the analysis and research of the characteristics of the architecture and layout of the ancient Huizhou Villages, it includes the materialization of the culture that reflects the culture intercommunion between the North and the South, Hui Business Culture, Rudao Culture, sightseeing culture and western culture and expatiates the idea that the Huizhou Ancient Villiage and architecture is the outcome of the accumulation of the civilization in the historical periods. One outstanding aspect is that it rejoined with the nature and it has intimate relations with the society and culture. It's benefiting the people to completely know and understand the Huizhou Ancient Architecture, and utilize its successful practices. It's also helpful for us to review critically the development and art of modern architecture.
