Green design can satisfy the green consumption from consumers and is the inevitable choice to conform to the sustainable development. The green performance of products is relative, therefore, green design is the process of sustaining improvement, and it illustrates that by ameliorating design elements of original design planning the green performance of products is improved continuously. Further more, due to the wide scope of knowledge and factors involved in green design, it is more difficult to generate green design planning automatically.Based on the considerations above, Green Design Method of Mechatronic Products Based on CBR is presented in this paper. Via analyzing the hierarchical process the green products design and development, the green design cases are described by adopting extended OOP (Object-Oriented Paradigm), and then the green design case base is built. Due to the hierarchy and complexity of green design cases, AHP method is introduced to define weights of each attribute of green design cases. In order to improve the case retrieval speed, an improved nearest neighborhood strategy is applied to retrieve green design cases, and the adaptation method of green design cases is given and discussed. In the last place, by establishing hierarchical evaluation model and indices, and adopting Fussy & Comprehensive Assessment Method, the green design planning is assessed, finally the result analysis, improvement measures and storage methods of green design cases are presented respectively.
