With the appearance of intelligent material and structure concept during the end of 1970s to the beginning of 1980s, piezo-material, a kind of intelligent material with adaptive ability, received widely attention.Based on the modern control method, a LQR method, in which the vibration energy of the structure and the control signal energy were chosen as the object function, was adopted to control the vibration of plate with various boundary conditions through using piezoelectric material. First, according to the energy criterion, programming to calculate the weighting factors (matrix Q and R) in object function. Then using the system simulation of Matlab, the response and control voltage of plate were numeric simulated under different boundary condition. The value of R derived from this method was compared with that random R. The result proved that this method was more effective to restrain the structural vibration and reduce the total dissipative energy. At last, the paper discussed the influence of piezo-patch's location and size to control result.
