With the rapid development of our national economy, city construction andtransformation , road traffic building and various industrial facilities ,expand thescale of human economic activity . How ever, limited land resources andexcessive land occupied is self-contradiction . Meanwhile , the projectsgeological environment man faced has become increasingly complex . All thishas brought inevitable problems to the production of human activities. Theemergence and development of reinforced soil's technique can successfullysolve these problems in some extent .reinforced soil is a complex soil whichreinforcements are laid in. Using the friction between reinforcement andfilling ,it can improve soil conditions of physical deformation and performanceof soil .Thereby ,the purposes of soil stability can be maintained .As a form ofreinforced soil ,the application and development of reinforced retaining wall israpid because of its special performance .It's a flexible structure ,so it can meetthe slight deformation of the foundation . Meanwhile , it has strong anti—vibration .In addition ,its lower cost ,shaped appearance and savings of spaceare significant than other forms.When designing reinforced retaining wall , the stability and deformation ofretaining wall should be solved . through experiment study and theoreticalanalysis , many scholar have achieved some theories and experiences formula inreinforcement pulling force,the distribution of filling's stress,the partition ofreinforcement 's effective and ineffective,the determination of the totalreinforcement pulling stress and so on .These have solved the stability problemof the retaining wall excellent . To the deformation of retaining walls ,it's mainlysolved by numerical simulations .Reinforced retaining wall can suit largedeformation .But the degree of deformation should be controlled in some extent .Because excessive deformation affects the normal use of the retaining wall .Atthe same time ,excessive deformation can make the structure lost its stability .Therefore, the meaning to the study of retaining wall's deformation is significantnot only in theoretics but also in practicality .The support design of Dalian Newport harbor is just reinforced retainingwall . In the paper, the stability of the selected section is checked and issimulated through ANSYS .Conclusions are follows :1) The support design of Dalian slope is reasonable . It maintains theslope stability .2) Because of its self—heavy ,the settlement deformation of thereinforced retaining wall is primary . The values of horizontaldisplacement is subordinate . The form of damage in this protectionis overturn .3) Being a flexible structure ,reinforced retaining wall is able to adaptto .large deformation occurred during the course of its function .4) The degree of deformation ,stress state and the function of thereinforcement is influenced directly by the physical state of filling.So the physical state of filling should be controlled strictly inprotection .5) Finite element method can simulate the stress and deformation of thereinforced retaining wall .It can provide suggestions to the design ofthe protection .
