| The UniTire is a tire model that is applied in vehicle dynamic simulationfor all situations. UniTire model is a compact relatively fast tire model thatsatisfies some theoretical boundary. The objective of this thesis is to embedUniTire in dynamic software ADAMS and CarSim which is widely used inautomotive industry. By doing this, the time for application of UniTire invehicle dynamics simulation is ripe.In this thesis, the fundamental theory and the structure of the UniTire hasbeen introduced. The tire modeling theory in ADAMS and CarSim is wellstudied, especially for the interface of the external tire model. According to thedefinition of the tire interface, the UniTire source code for embedding inADAMS and CarSim has been developed. After that, a lot of debugging workhas been done about the UniTire working in dynamic software. As soon asthe UniTire can work in dynamic software, a lot of simulation has been doneto ensure the UniTire working exactly and robustly. The outline of this thesis ispresented as follows.Chapter 2 presents the basic concepts and structure of the UniTire model.Including the contact patch, the Contact Process coordinate system, and slipratio, the input and output of the UniTire model. The main formulas of theUniTire Model are also presented.Chapter 3 presents the application of UniTire in ADAMS. First, the tiremodeling and solver of ADAMS has been introduced. Second, mainly talkabout the interface of the external tire model, including TIRSUB and TYRSUB.The definitions of these two interfaces have been explained in-depth.According to these definitions, the transformation of the coordinates betweenADAMS and UniTire is presents. The process of UniTire working in ADAMS isalso explained. Finally, a lot of simulation tests have been done for validation.Through the TMPT, it is approved that UniTire can be used for the limitsituations of the tire,such as the variation of the tire pressure, the variation tothe friction coefficient, as well as the complicated combined slip situations.Through the simulation of UniTire in ADAMS/Car, it is validated that TheUniTire Model can work exactly for the vehicle dynamic simulation.Chapter 4 presents the application of UniTire in CarSim. First, the vehiclemodeling theory of CarSim is introduced, the solver program is also explained,these are the foundations for application of UniTire in CarSim. Second, thecalculation method of UniTire inputs in CarSim has been presented, this isvery important, because we must ensure that the inputs extract form CarSimis exactly what UniTire Model needs. Then set forth the way of UniTireembedding in CarSim. Last, as working with ADAMS, a lot of simulation testshave been made in CarSim to ensure the UniTire Model work normally. InCarSim, only the simulation for full vehicle has been done, it is validated thatThe UniTire Model can work exactly for the vehicle dynamic simulation inCarSim.Finally, the most important conclusions of this thesis are presented inChapter 5. Recommendations for further development of the model arementioned. |
