This paper is a part of the production of 'YunNan Tenth Five Year'sImportant Project'-'The Tall Building's Seismic Performance in KunMing Nearby Strong Earthshock Site'.About 90% of all tall building is RC structure in our country. So many RCstructures have not been examined by a strong earthquake. We cann't estimatethe result when a big strong earthquake will come. We haven't an appropriateevaluating method to evaluate structure's performance in strong earthquake inour country. So the evaluation of inelastic response for tall building is one of thekey problems in the study of earthquake resistance of building. This paper makesan attempt at to do that. Use a formulae brought forth by Pro. Sun Jing Jiang whoputted forward it basing on equal seismic displacement principle. So we canevaluate inelastic response for high-rise buildings through its elastic response. This paper collects 16 structures in KunMing, and computes these structureunder the excitation of spectrum, real seismic waves and numerical simulationwaves in basin in small quake, middle quake and big quake, evaluatesperformances of these structure, and points out the disadvantages in earthquakeresistance of structures.Secondly, this paper discusses some problems of earthquake resistance ofstructure through computing these 16 structures. These problems list below:1 Analyses and compares seismic waves' input in one direction and twodirections.2 The correlation between design method and internal force of members ofstructure.3 The structure's torsion's affect to shear-wall's force.4 Compare the results of spectrum of our country and time historyresponse analysis.5 The correlation between structure's rigidity and story shear of structureunder earthquake.
