With the developing of national economy and the increasing ofautomobile quantity, the shortage of petrol is becoming more and more severe.Our country is the largest developing country, since70's, our country'seconomy is developing with fleetly, and have made wonderful achievement.At the same time, the market of automobile are also developing with a highspeed. With the quantityof auto-retained is rising, and we need petroleum moreand more, thatwill threaten our country's energy-sources safety indirectly. Thepice of petroleum has rised since 2004 fleetly. We must look for subfuel inorder that we can reduce the degree of depend petroleum. Deficient petroleumbut abundant coal is the characteristic of energy sources in our country, sodeveloping the subfuel made from coal is suitable our country's development.The reserves of coal is very abundance, the gross is 1012ton, and we can gainedat lest 7650 hundred million ton.Methanol, being a source from coal, plays animportant role more and more. In this paper, we didn't change theconfiguration of the gasoline engine, a gasoline engine of Bora E4 1.6L wasused to test the performance, with the methanol-gasoline fuel blends, fueleconomy, power property, exhaust emissions property and combustioncharacteristics. The main contents are as follows:1-In this paper, the mutual solubility of methanol and gasoline is influenced byblend ratio, temperature and water content. The solution curve ofmethanol-gasoline fuel take on protruding, it is better to burn low volumeconcentration of methanol-gasoline fuel when the configurations of gasolineengine aren't altered. With the increase of the volume of methanol in themethanol-gasoline fuel, low heat value of the blends is decreasing step by step,but the octane number and the heat of evaporation are increasing step by step.2-power property: The power output is inverse proportion with the increase ofthe volume of methanol in the methanol-gasoline fuel. But the methanol inmethanol-gasoline fuel quicken the speed of blaze, reduce the heat lost, thedegressive rate of power property is lower than that of heat value.3-fuel economy decreased when the methanol volume increased. There are towreasons: one, methanol increase the oxygen in emissions the ECU of engineadjust the fuel supply, the other, the heat value of methanol-gasoline is lowerthan E10,so the power output is in the same level, the spending is more.4-The exhaust emissions of conventionality: Comparing with E10 fuel themethanol-gasoline fuel , Carbon monoxide(CO) is dropping, NOx emissionand Hydrocarbon(HC) emission are increased. With the increase of the volumeof methanol in the methanol-gasoline fuel, NOx emission andHydrocarbon(HC) emission are increased evidently.5-The exhaust emissions of unconventionality (formaldehyde emission):formaldehyde as a intermediate also appear few in the emission of gasoline.When the engine used the fuel of methanol-gasoline, the quantity offormaldehyde emission is increasing with the volume of methanol in themethanol-gasoline fuel. The formaldehyde emission is influenced by the blendratio of methanol. With the increase of the volume of methanol in themethanol-gasoline fuel, the formaldehyde emission is increasing step by step.It is also influenced by the rotate speed and the load of engine.6-combustion: because of the characteristic physical and chemistry of methanol,the maximal combustion pressure of methanol-gasoline fuel is lower thanE10,but the rate of pressure increasing is faster than E10. The largeevaporation heat of methanol prolong the delay period slow down the combustion,but the fast flame accelerate the combustion. When the engine uses themethanol-gasoline fuel without optimize, its' alteration rate is lower than E10.
