Electro hydraulic servo valve is the part of high precision with the combination of the mechanical, electronic, and hydraulic technology, the performance of which has direct effects on or even determines the performance of the entire electro hydraulic servo system. In the military industry, the performance of the servo valve can greatly influence the control accuracy of the weapons, the stability and the reliability of the system. Therefore, the study of the paper holds great strategic significance.The paper introduces the current development of the computer aided test (CAT) technology and the application of the computer aided test technology in the field of electro hydraulic servo valve testing, and then illustrates the formation, characteristics, and the current development of the hydraulic CAT technology of electro hydraulic servo valve.The paper starts from the performance indexes of static and dynamic characteristic of the electro hydraulic servo valve and the testing principles and proposes to measure mainly the zero load flow characteristic curve, pressure gain characteristic curve, and the leakage characteristic curve of the electro hydraulic servo valve in static measurement while to adopt the idea of frequency response measurement by means of swept frequency method in dynamic measurement. The paper conducts the hardware designing and the software programming of the testing system, which mainly complete the configuration of various kinds of hardware in the system as well as the analysis and design of the testing system structure. The paper also does researches on the peripheral problems of the testing system, such as the composition of the hydraulic part of the testing system of the electro hydraulic servo valve and its control, the anti-jamming design of the testing system, etc., to provide insurance for the reliable operation of the testing system. At last, the testing system is adopted for the static and dynamic characteristic tests on some electro hydraulic servo valve, the tested results are analyzed and the causes of the error have been found out. The experiment verifies that the testing system accomplished the static and dynamic characteristic tests on the electro hydraulic servo valve with rapidity, brevity and accuracy.The practical accomplishment involved in the paper is the development of a testing system of electro hydraulic servo valve which is highly precise, reliable, satisfactory, and able to be used in the assembly line. Its creation is the adoption ofthe hydraulic energy system under constant voltage with the remote proportioning pressure control and the combination of frequency converter, ordinary electric machinery with the proportioning pump. Compared with the traditional energy system, such a hydraulic energy system is of high efficiency in power and better performance in control without overflow loss or damper loss.
