The certain developing trend of IT is the product stylebook stands for the traditional paper stylebook.The general way to choose product types is according to stylebook in traditional product types choosing process. Meanwhile, it is taxing and time-taking to make the stylebooks, also updates slowly, has single form, and contains only limited information, so it cannot interact well with customers and cannot get satisfying effect when advertises.According to product stylebook status in quo and developing trend in and out china, this project researches the main functions, designing methods and developing technology, etc. product types choosing platform which manipulates conveniently and interacts well has been completed. Some breakthrough and progress are gained in the technology (vb.net programming, database, product releasing and laying out technology, parametric modeling technology based on CAD, collecting technology of product types choosing results )Which used in the course.This project takes the general retarder for example, has developed the product types choosing interface software which can run independently. Using this platform, customers can enter or choose some conditions in the types choosing interface according to idiographic needs, the platform can calculates other related parameters automatically ,then these parameters can be used to search all products satisfy requirements in product database, and 2D,3D graphics of the products can been seen and downloaded. The schemes collecting function is also provided for repetitious types choosing.
