Today the method of using shaped-steel to strengthen reinforced concrete beam is widely applied to structure projects, not only because it can enhance bending capacity and rigidity of reinforced concrete beam to a great extent, but also it is safe, reliable, economical and prompt. In order to study the mechanical behavior and reinforcing effect of this method, the paper introduced an experimental, in which 9 beams including 3 contrast beams not reinforced,3 reinforced ones bearing primary load and the rest 3 reinforced ones bearing secondary load were tested. The results show that the reinforced beam can be greatly improved in bending capacity, bending behavior and rigidity, which slows down the cracking. The researching results not only make the reinforcing theory perfect but also provide practical value to the design theory of concrete beam reinforced with shaped-steel.This article includes six chapters. Chapter 1 mainly introduces reinforcing purpose, general methods and the current study at home. The experimental process design is introduced in chapter 2.In chapter 3, the experimental results are intensively analyzed with graphs. Chapter 4 gives theoretical analysis of the beams under primary and secondary load. It also proposes the calculating steps and formulas of the bending capacity of reinforced beams, which fit the test data well. Chapter 5 theories and experimental results are tested with FEA software ANSYS. The last chapter summarizes the all above chapter and proposes some items which should be careful of in the construction process and also prospects for the future of reinforcing technology.
