Stratified rock slope mainly develops a group of alternative stratified joint. According to the angle's relation of joint and slope, it can be divided into three parts: horizontal, reversal incline and bedding slope. Among these, the bedding slope is most likely to slide and it is a important engineering problem, although a large number of researches have been made, its theory needs to be further developed for the question's complexity.The three-dimensional fast Lagrangian analysis is a numerical method based on three-dimensional explicit finite difference method. It can simulate three-dimensional mechanical behaviors of geotechnical or other materials such as yielding, plastic flow. softening or large deformation. Because of the application of explicit difference method, it is especially suitable to elastic-plastic analysis, large deformation analysis and construction process simulation. Therefore, the first principles of three-dimensional fast Lagrangian analysis and its features are introduced first. Then, using the program FLAG1" of fast Lagrangian analysis developed by Itasca Consulting Group, Inc. of America, taking a high slope of the Zhexi hydropower station as the example, the author demonstrated its application in high slope stability analysis and possible failure model simulation.In this paper, based on the documentation collection of on-site investigation and mapping and indoor analysis, geology condition, failure mechanism, stability and corresponding reinforce model of the quarry slope are studied systemically.Firstly, this paper makes a research of the stability of bedding stratified rock slope to get a Safe coefficient and relating slide surface in two-dimensional condition adopting limit equilibrium method.Secondly, several numerical models of joint are discussed, and their accuracy and feasibility is given.Thirdly, the bedding stratified rock slope's deformation feature and failure mechanism and its stability analysis in different geology environment with different ultimate failure model is investigated , and the corresponding reinforce model is established and verified ,using the Ubiquitous-Joint Model provided by FLAC~3D .At last, a further analysis of mechanics parameter sensitivity of joint is made.In this research, The applicability of FLAC (Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua) in stratified rock slope analysis is demonstrated. Study and research on the Ubiquitous-Joint Model help to develop the understanding of failure mechanism of this kind of slope, and to improve its accuracy of stability analysis and simulate its failure process. Accordingly, the research may supply some guideline to construction process and reinforce method of the Stratified rock slope.
