With the rapid growth of economy of our motherland, infrastructure has been developed with unprecedented pace. Civil engineer, especially the road engineer have been extended to mountainous area. For the complicated land configuration of our country, two third of which is mountainous area. Especially the significant variation in land configuration in the south, with complex geological structure and various rock structure, problems of rock slope in the road engineering have been attractive nowadays. Experience in the past has been indicated that the failure bedding rock slope has been the most unstable and hazardous slope, which brings about tremendous loss to engineering, life and property. At present, for lack of further study on stability and design method of prevention and reinforcement, that is, how to analysis and evaluate the stability of bedding slope ,find out the treat and appropriate design method and prevent bedding landslide of this slope is an urgent puzzle in road engineering.In this paper, theory analysis and numerical simulation are combined; further analysis and study of deformation and the failure mechanics, stability analysis, prevention, reinforcement and slope design of expressway slope are made. The major . study work as follows:(1) Influencing factors of the stability of bedding slope are systematically analyzed. The control effect of structural plane are discussed, bedding rock slope are classified according to the engineering geology conditions. Common failure modes of bedding rock slope are summarized and the failure mechanics are studied. According to the failure mechanics and modes, the slope stability are analyzed by building the mechanics modes.(2) Theory is introduced to the discrete element to analyses the slope stability, safety factor is presented, collapse standard is proposed in the simulation. The different discrete element models that simulate the failure mode of bedding rock slope are established and are used to perform the numerical analysis of deformation damage to have a further study on formation mechanics and development evolution of bedding rock slope. Sensibility analysis is made according to factors affecting bedding rock slope and the key factors are advanced.(3) Common treatment of reinforcement on slope at present are generalize, and acting mechanics of treating slope by prestress cable reinforcement engineering are emphasize, designed flowcharts and calculation ways are given, corresponding countermeasure of reinforcement engineering are putted forward, with achievement of stability analysis of bedding rock slope. According to research findings and designed experience of bedding rock slope at home and abroad, the designed method of bedding rock road slope has been presented and operated in the practical project and favorable results are achieved.
