The measurement of the three-dimension temperature field of the flame is a complex and important issue .The cross-section temperature research is carried out in Qinshan power plant ,and so the 3D temperature visualization research in the power plant of Wuhan Iron and Steel Company .Using a novel flame image processing technique, the 3-D temperature distributions of combustion in pulverized-coal-fired boiler furnace could be visualized experimentally. And the result is approved by experts native and foreign. But when it is in practice, a stable and credible monitoring system and analyse of 3-D temperature distributions are needed. The 3D-temperature on-line monitoring software system which based on the previous research is investigated in this paper. Firstly it summarizes the visualization in scientific computing, nephogram, contours algorithm and OpenGL programming. Later the effects of image noise are erased by digital image processing technique when reconstructing the 3D temperature field. By using CCD flame detectors, video DAS cards and video color quads, the flame image is captured and the on-line monitoring of 3D-temperature distributions in boiler furnace of a 300MW power generation unit is designed. On-line monitoring results demonstrate the combustion situations in various conditions such as different load and the regulation of the distribution of fuel and air quantity between various layers of burners. The visualization of 3-D temperature field in furnace is very important in the combustion control of the boiler, and it can assist operators to have combustion diagnosis and fault analysis, improve the security and economical efficiency of the boiler while decreasing the emission of contamination.
