| Greenbelt plays an important role in improving environmental quality, raising inhabitable standard and creating ecologically inhabitable city. But, in China, there are large amounts of people and comparatively less farmland. It is quite common that cities are densely populated. The area that can be afforested is comparatively limited. Therefore, how to make a reasonable plan and layout of greenbelt system in the limited space becomes an urgent and important task for city's administration and construction. Langfang, a newly developing city , also has this outstanding problem.In this article the author probes into the total area of greenbelt in Langfang by means of theory and practice of Carbon-Oxygen Balance; produces the total greenbelt area which is suitable for Langfang city; analyzes the greenbelt and landscape pattern in Langfang by the theory and practice of landscape ecology; gives rational discussion about whether the greenbelt layout is reasonable or not. This article provides the scientific base for how to make the best use of the landscape and its administration and protection, and for city's planning and construction as well, so as to achieve the purpose of reasonable structure, efficient functions and proper coordination for city's landscape.In this article the author finds out some problems existing in greenbelt ecological planning after analyzing the greenbelt area and its landscape pattern in Langfang. And, based on Langfang population density, economic condition and greenbelt current situation, the countermeasure of greenbelt ecological planning is produced which includes three parts: park system, greenbelt corridor and wedge-shaped greenbelt, which makes langfang a city with the style of "three-wedge, three-ring, ten-belt, ten-park". Also, it provides reference for amending and formulating Langfang greenbelt planning system.
