| Water turbine governors is an important generation control equipment,it's governing character have a direct influence on electric quality and generation safety. So water turbine governor needs a comprehensive test not only before factory-adjusted but also before installation or after reparation. So far in China, Water turbine governors is generally adjusted and dynamically tested at site after completed with factory static testing . In order to find out the best parameter coincidence with site , It's often need repeat trials which has a great impact on unit .If static and dynamic character of governor can be get before factory ,at site experiment is effective decreased .So research a synthesis experiment system which could finish governor static and dynamic test is needed .This paper put forward a real-time simulation model of governing system based on MATLAB/RTW .This method extend application of MATLAB /Simulink to real-time range, and complete task of designing, math simulation ,real-time simulation under same experimental system which use Advantech PC computer and I/O board as hardware. Mathematical simulation model and input /output block supplied by MATLAB real-time tool box together to construct hydro-generator real-time simulation model, which connect with YWT-PMC controller to make-up a real-time simulation system. This system can test dynamic characteristic of water turbine governors, have advantage of simple to construct hardware, easy to modify simulation model ,auto-generate high efficiency simulation program, flexible operation and so on. This simulation system gives a method to solve lacking of effective dynamic experiment method to test governors at prophase research and before factory–adjust .Apply the semi-physical simulation system based on MATLAB /RTW to governor dynamic experiment. The result indicate that the real-time character of the simulation system is good to satisfy dynamic testing experiment of governing system, and have a high application value and prospect.
