Arch dam is one kind of quite superior dam,all kinds of arch dams have been constructed in the world,especially in our country in recent years,so that the optimized research of arch dam shows more practicalsignificance.Based on the geometrical characteristics and design requirements of concrete arch dam,the designvariables,the constraint condition and objective function are determined in this thesis.The ANSYSparametric design language(APDL)is utilized to program in order to fulfill the optimal design for shape ofconcrete arch dam.Generally the geometric shape of arch dam is determined by the arch crown beam cross section and thecross section of arch loop.The cross section at crown and horizontal arch loop can been described by usingsome characteristic parameters reflecting geometric shape of arch dam.In the optimal research thesecharacteristic parameters can been defined as design variables.In the program of finite element,firstly finiteelement model of dam body and corresponded base rock are constructed by using these design variables andsome known parameters,and dam's volume is defined as objective function.Then the optimal module ofANSYS software is called according to geometric restraint,stress restraint and steady condition in the opticaldesign,the design variables are rectified and calculated repeatedly in term of restraining conditions until thedam's volume converge a minimal result finally.The final design variables corresponding to the objectivefunction just are the most optimal answers,thus we fulfill the shape optimal design of concrete arch dam.It isworthy of note that the equivalent stress is obtained as the control standard in the stress analysis of finiteelement.In the practical examples we optimized a simple double-curved arch dam with a single circle centerand equal thickness,and a complicated logarithmic spiral double-curved arch dam according to this designnotion,calculation results of the practical examples show that the design method is audio-visual and rational.ANSYS-based optimal design for shape of arch dam has verified the application value of ANSYSsoftware in the optimal design of concrete arch dam in this thesis.To sum up,this optimized methodsimplifies the computation process,enhances the speed of computation,and causes the optimal design ofconcrete arch dam to become more brief and concise....
