The Pattern Of Universal Housing

According to the development all over the world, the development of housing is influenced by the demography and market economy much better than the renovation of technique. Universal Design is firstly brought forward by Ronald L.Mace, an American architect. And universal design is described as products or environment designs which can be used by all the people, which is distinguished from all kinds of special design. The fundamental aim of UD is to cture creation is to presented a Barrier-free Environment which can contain all kind of human activities. And the housing which incarnates the idea of UD is called "Universal Housing". Using the systemic scientific means, this thesis initiates by analyzing residential pattern and housing pattern to find out some questions in the housing building. And then, by studying the theory of UD and incorporating the progress of China housing, this thesis works on the meaning to put forward the Universal housing pattern that can accommodate the China environment. and the thesis also tries to set up the bases, principles and methods of Universal Housing design. This thesis includes four chapters: Chapter one, holding out the question in the housing building: what does our housing build for? Chapter two, the research of universal design in some foreign countries and the bases, principles and methods of Universal Housing design.
