Universal Housing Design For Future Ageing Society

According to increasingly serious population ageing of China’s society nowadays,this paper selected the mainstream dwelling size on Chinese housing market,which is three-bedroom dwelling-size as study object,through an interpretation of concept and principles about universal design,along with the physiological,psychological and lifestyle analyses of the aged from the perspective of universal design,in order to sum up the key elements of residential spaces design.Under these spaces design,the hinge is “hidden design”,which considers the special needs of the aged and specific path for wheelchair.At last,the purpose of this paper is to achieve the requirements of universal design,which is the design should be accessible and usable to different stages of our life,in addition,to create a convenient living environment for old people.
